New Arrival

Hi, our new baby son, Oscar was born on the 18th August.
Luckily it was true what they say, the second pops out faster!
I have been on maternity leave for a few weeks and had managed
to design a set of baby announcement cards, Oscar is featured above, bless him!
Hope you like the new cards, they are not yet up on our website as
Jo has her hands full, please tell me what you think.

New Invitations

Here are some of new invitations we have just had shot.
The first was commissioned by our great friends Matt and Lola, they wanted something simple and elegant. So we opted to design them an invite which was type only. Lola and her mother love it so much they are planning to get the invite framed which is fab, we couldn't ask for a nicer compliment.

Top Ten Wedding Tips & Trends

1. The key look this season is gothic and lace. Check out the latest fashion catwalks for inspiration.
And if you wanted to follow that look through to your stationery have a peek at our chandelier invite in black and gold/silver, or the lace invites in our vintage section at emilyandjo.co.uk

2. We saw a great twist to the table plan at a wedding recently. All the guests names were written in gold and silver metallic pens onto lovely vintage mirrors.

3. If your venue does not supply the menu, a fab money saving idea is to print the menu from your printer at work or home and display them in cheap photo frames.

4. Make sure you do a first dance. Emily was too nervous and still regrets it to this day!

5. Think about engraving the inside of your wedding bands, a line from a favourite poem, a song lyric or simply each others names. An extra romantic touch is to keep the message secret from each other until you exchange vows.

6. Loving the glass jars Pierce was helping to make for the wedding reception in Mamma Mia, even better if you can hire a donkey to take you to the church!

7. Thank you cards don't need to match the rest of your wedding stationery. Plan ahead and order personalised stationery, (at emilyandjo.co.uk if you like) then you can use them not only at your wedding, but for every occasion.

8. The botanical theme is still going strong. It can still be seen on everything from wallpaper to ceramics, and is still one of our most invite designs.

9. A great idea friends used recently was to hire an ice-cream bike and used that to chill the champagne outside at the drinks reception, very unique.

10. Order wedding invite from Emily&Jo.
